On the stove top, Cook some veggies (I use frozen mixed vegetables) in simmering water. When they are done pour off most of the water, Stir in a can of cream of chicken soup, canned or homemade gravy. Add some diced fully cooked chicken. Add balck pepper, sage, what ever spices you want at this point. Simmer til its hot. Pour into a oven safe dish. top with a refrigerated pie crust or some canned biscuits cut into quarters. Bake at 375 for half hour or so, until crust or biscuits are done.
Base the amount of veggies and chicken on the # of people you are cooking for, use two cans of soup of you are making a large batch.
I've been making this for many years. I don't have a recipe. I just do it.
For chicken pot pie just make a good chicken stew.
Pour it in a buttered baking dish.
You can lay a pie crust over the top, or make up some biscuits and arrange the ';unbaked'; biscuits on top of your stew. Bake it at 375 degrees until the biscuits are done.
