The basics for a tomato past sauce are tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. With that you can make hundreds of sauces depending on what you have on hand.

For 1 can of tomatoes I will use:

4 cloves of garlic

4 tbsp of olive oil

1 tbsp of tomato paste (if you have it)

For herbs %26amp; spices I will use any and all of the following:

basil

oregano

marjoram

rosemary

parsley

red pepper flakes

The I'll throw in any of the following:

Hamburg, sausage, bacon, almost any meat

mushrooms

veggies

onions

olives

cheese

cream

vodka

wine

beer

lemon

almost anything works

Cook in this order:

Cook you meat

Add veggies cook about a min.

Add Garlic %26amp; dried herbs (make sure you crush up the dried herbs)

Add your wine, beer or vodka (you don't need much)

Add the tomatoes, make sure you crush them

Add cream or butter or lemon

Add fresh herbs

Cream, vodka, butter and red pepper flakes is a nice sauce

Veggies with lemon %26amp; Capers and olives is good

Meat, mushrooms %26amp; beer is tasty.

Tomatoes, basil, rosemary, thyme. Salt. Onion. mushrooms, anahiem peppers and olive oil if you have them. Take what ever ingredients you have from the above list, put the tomatoes in a pot. Add a couple chopped up slices of onion, some mushrooms and peppers and olive oil, if you have those. Stir until hot. Taste. Add the salt first until it tastes good. Then add a dash of the other spices. Give it a few minutes to simmer and taste again. When it's been cooking about 10 minutes, add a couple table soons of corn starch or flour to a quarter cup of cold water. Mix that up and pour it into the tomatoes to thicken it. Four will change the color a bit, corn starch won't. Pour over your pasta and add shredded cheese to the very top.

I don't measure anything, but that's my sauce. It usually turns out pretty good.
Easy with tinned tomatoes! That's what I usually use for my sauce. Check out my spaghetti recipe - there's a quick and easy sauce recipe there. You could substitute your dried herbs for the fresh that I used.
